STORY

These Hanging or valance are made from scraps of fabrics or recycled fabric.
They are also called rag hanging. Rag means a piece of old cloth, especially one torn from a larger piece.

These fabrics are left over fabrics from manufacturing of Indian textile specially saree. Fabric scraps (old or new) is used in making of these rugs. Saree - A popular Indian traditional dress for women is used in making these rugs as well. As there are lots of fabric from different sources, we have varieties of colors and type and quality of fabric. Hence, fabric in these rugs are mix of Georgette, silk, chiffon, cotton, polyester, etc.

Our team cut fabric into thin weave-able strips and tied together to form a knot. Long strips are winded to bobbin so that they are suitable to be used. These bobbins are stored according colors and length. Depending of style and colors they are stitched together to make a hanging. Sometimes We also dye it to give a Some particular color shade. These valances are special as they are handmade. They are unique as each piece comes unique because they are made with recycled fabrics and each hanging comes with with its own beauty and imperfections.
There is also peace and happy environment at place. We enjoy our work. We live happily and celebrate Indian festivals together.
